I was born and raised in Saint-Lô, Normandy, France. I spent one year in Paris then moved to Aix-en-Provence to study Arts at the university. I came to NYC for 5 months to be inspired, to imagine, to create, to experience, to liberate myself. I've found through Art a way to reveal ones unconscious feelings, those painful and underlying ones one cannot explain or cannot admit. I create by necessity and discover afterwards its meaning. My work is autobiographical: I am inspired by my family's history and by buried feelings, torn between love and a will for independence. The result is a poetic work built on metaphorical images. My work's starting point began with my grandmother's death and it soon focused on past mourning. Childhood appears then as a sweet reminiscence of ones state of unison with the world, yet the adult's point of view reminds us that this world is for ever inaccessible, that our innocence is lost. My work is a struggle with childhood in order to become a woman, a necessary yet painful struggle, fought on with regret.
